There has been a misleading circular which has been doing rounds on social media, in particular, WhatsApp groups with claims that new dates for the remaining three exams of Higher Secondary Examination 2020 in West Bengal have been declared and the dates are 20th April, 23rd April and 27th April 2020.
Many queries from guardians and students have been received by News Sense and hence the Fact Check Team decided to find out the truth. Our team reached out to State Education Minister Shri Partha Chatterjee and showed him the claim in the form of the circular, which he immediately denied and said it as FAKE.
He immediately issued a video message to everyone, saying the claims made on Social Media are wrong and baseless and assured everyone that once the date has been fixed, the Education Ministry and West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education will notify it through proper media, also the circular will be available on the council’s website. He further appealed to everyone not to give ear to such misleading claims.
