The post claims that nominations are to be submitted by March 23, 2024, polling will take place on April 19, 2024, counting and result declaration on May 22, 2024, and the formation of the new government on May 30, 2024.
News Sense received numerous requests to fact-check this information. Initially, the posts appeared dubious, as they featured the government logo, creating a false sense of authenticity. Despite this, we opted to verify the information. Contacting the Election Commission of India, we confirmed that no such announcement had been made. Moreover the commission has also posted on its official twitter handle saying the post is fake, further they have clarified that official election dates would be declared through a press conference.
