An image of Keoratola Crematorium has been doing round on social media claiming that a new sign board has come up at the Crematorium in the heart of the Kolkata city saying ‘I love Keoratola Mahasashan’ and has become viral on social media posts.
We at News Sense received several requests to verify the authenticity of the image with the claim. Accordingly we started our investigation. First we tried to reach out to several government sources and found no such sign board has been installed, further we started our investigation using simple – Google Reverse Image Search and found an old image, with same background.
The image has been taken from a news article published dated 22nd May 2019 by renowned publication, here is the article link. Further more if we look at the image, it is clearly visible that the fonts and words are straight and pasted.
So, with our own simple investigation we can say that the image which has been doing round is an original image but the context with which the image has been used is wrong and misleading, so we can say that the message conveyed is not correct.

Conclusion: The image is right but the context with which the image has been used is wrong and misleading.
NB: Don’t share or forward any misleading information on your social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp, by doing so you are also becoming someone, who is creating panic and confusion among the larger mass and this is a punishable offense.
