Meet Aunkita Nandi, Managing Director of Tier 5, the first ever community owned and operated software development firm, which specializes in making innovative and user-friendly products that enable the business owners to attain more clients and grow their business simultaneously.
The journey for Aunkita was not that easy, a first generation entrepreneur from a middle class family of a government employee and homemaker mother from Burdwan, a small town of West Bengal, Aunkita has made it possible with her sheer determination and dedication towards her dream.
Speaking to News Sense, Aunkita said, “Life is the greatest teacher, from failure you learn more than your success”. Since her childhood, she wanted to do something on her own and contribute to the society. True to her dreams, she completed her engineering and started Tier5 in 2016. The initial days were tough as the venture started from a tiny space with rented computers and only few clients.
Today, with Aunkita’s relentless effort, Tier5 is considered to be one of the most promising SaaS (software as a service) firm, with more than 15000 happy customers globally and nearly 100 team members working for the company. The company has more than 25 state of the art software products in its kitty and is coming up with 8 more products in the near future.
Aunkita dreamt of starting her own company that would create opportunities for others in the society. True to her vision, she started working towards her dreams since her college days and came out with API based applications. After completing her software engineering degree from an engineering college of Burdwan, Aunkita continued to develop applications and finally in 2015, she co- founded Tier5, along with her friend then and now husband Jon Vaughn, who is also the Co founder and CEO of the company.
A passionate kick boxer, Aunkita is also the winner of ‘India 5000 Women Achievers Award 2021’ by India 5000 and ‘Designated Woman Awards 2021’ by Beyond Average.
