Since the beginning of commercial operation of Jio in September,2016:

Internet penetration in the country increased by 312% from 192.30 million broadband subscribers in September,16 to 792.78 million broadband subscribers in June,2021 (TRAI subscriber reports). A CAGR of around 33%

Data cost came down by over 93% from Rs160/per GB to Rs.10.77/per GB (TRAI Performance Indicators Reports: October-December,2016 & January-March,2021). A CAGR of around -42%

Total data consumption per user/per month increased by over 1303% from 878.63MB to 12.33 GB (TRAI Performance Indicators Reports: October-December,2016 & January-March,2021). A CAGR of around 70%

Voice consumption per user per month increased by over 164% from 310 minutes to 818 minutes (TRAI Performance Indicators Reports: October-December,2016 & January-March,2021). A CAGR of around 21%

Digitization helped Start up eco system. The total number of unicorns in the country increased by 430% from 10 in 2016 to 53 as of June 2021. A CAGR of 40%. Many startups have appreciated Jio on record for their growth and success.

Digitization created new employment opportunities for millions of youths in all sectors.

Bengal Circle

Jio became revenue leader within two and half years of launch by Mar-19 and has a 47.2% RMS as of Jun-21. Penetrating Bengal’s deep rural markets with JioPhone, Jio became CMS leader in WB by May 2020 and currently have 39.7% CMS (Jun-21). This brought about digital revolution in the hinterlands where previously people did not have internet access. In Sep 2016 during Jio’s launch, WB had only 16 mn internet users. Today, WB has 35 mn internet users with Jio cornering around 57% of the market.

JioFiber now covers all the major towns in WB providing extra-ordinary digital experiences with bundled OTT apps and a never-before 30-days Trial Offer. It has been of huge boon to households where it connected the employees to their offices, students with their teachers, relatives with their loved ones. A growing team of sales executives & field engineers have ensured door step delivery and quality service to keep the customers delighted. It is one of the fastest growing fiber operator with plans for rapid expansion in Tier II & smaller towns.
