Commodore Rituraj Sahu takes over as Naval Officer-in-Charge (West Bengal) and Commanding Officer INS Netaji Subhas from Commodore Suprobho K De, NM at a Ceremonial Parade held at Kolkata on 29 Jan 21. Officers and sailors of INS Netaji Subhas bid farewell to Commodore Suprobho De who relinquished charge on his superannuation from the Indian Navy.
Commodore Rituraj Sahu was commissioned in the Indian Navy on 01 Jul 1990 and is an alumnus of the 75th Course NDA, Defence Service Staff College (Wellington, Nilgiris), College of Air Warfare (Secunderabad) and National Defence College Bangladesh. During his career, he has commanded Indian Navy Ships Cuddalore, Karwar and frontline Multi-Mission Stealth Frigate Tarkash, whilst also having been the second-in-command of the erstwhile Aircraft Carrier INS Viraat.
His Staff appointments include tenures at the Directorates of Staff Requirements and Aircraft Carrier Projects at Integrated Headquarters Ministry of Defence (Navy), and Naval Assistant to the Vice Chief of Naval Staff and the Flag Officer Commander-in-Chief (South) and Flag Officer Commander-in-Chief (West). He brings to bear his experience as the NOIC (Odisha) from his previous appointment as also that of the Commanding Officer of the Navy’s premier Training Establishment for Sailors, INS Chilka in Odisha.
