Restrained Idol Immersion in Ichamati River on Indo-Bangla Border

Idol immersion was kept low profile keeping in mind the ongoing Pandemic but with enthusiasm the immersion ceremony took place on October 26, 2020. The festival ended with the immersion of idols in the Ichamati River from 1300 hrs to 1730 hrs.

About 75 idols were immersed in the Ichamati River from the area of ​​Taki on the Indian side and 04 idols were immersed from the area of Bazar on the Bangladesh side. About 4000 people from India, gathered in the area of Taki and around 2000 people gathered from Bangladesh side in this immersion ceremony.

The idol was immersed following the tradition  in the presence of Shri Anurag Mani, Commandant, 85 Battalion, Assistant Commandant, Sh. Ram Kumar in BOP Taki and BOP Bazar Post respectively.

This festival is celebrated every year with great enthusiasm throughout the West Bengal. BSF is always involved in festivals and social events with the general public. All the instructions of Covid-19 issued by the administration is strictly followed by the BSF and people.
