At a time when the whole world is fighting the Pandemic caused by the spread of COVID 19 virus, several initiatives to give respite to the people are also taking place across the world. One such initiative is Barsha Mangol, an initiative to bring together cultural figures of two countries, India and Bangladesh and having a music carnival to give hope and spirit to the people to fight the virus.
Artists from Kolkata, Agartala, Silchar and Bangladesh will participate in the cultural festival named ‘Barsha Mangol’ through the presentation of various art forms which includes, music, dance and recitation through social media platform ‘Moner Canvas‘, particularly Facebook and YouTube.

Acclaimed Journalist and Cultural figure of Tripura, Shri Amit Bhaumik is the man behind this initiative as one of the prominent organiser. Speaking to News Sense, Shri Bhaumik said, “This series of Programme has been scheduled on 4th, 5th and 6th August 2020 at 11pm. Total number of participants are 30 (10 for three consecutive days)”.
Excellent Printing Press, Agartala is the co organiser of the entire programme series. Amit Bhaumik is also the Director and Managing the whole event and Shri Santosh Pal will be responsible for editing of the entire Programme.
Irrespective of any national background, cultural figures and lovers can free to participate in the online cultural festival. Barsha Mangal welcomes each and everyone to participate in the event that is going to culminate on 7th August 2020, which is also celebrated as Baishe Srabon, death anniversary of Poet Rabindranath Tagore.
