Online Quiz Competition on the topic ‘Constitution of India’ was organised in Arunachal Pradesh, where 60 school & college students from 8 North East states participated. The event was organised in the virtual platform by Indian Tourism Naharlagun, Ministry of Tourism Govt of India in collaboration with Himalayan Holidays Bomdila.
During the inaugural address K K Chandak, Hon’ble Member Foreigners’ Tribunal said that the subject of the quiz competition was ‘Constitution of India’ which involves substantial importance for persons of all walks of life. The awareness, knowledge and ability shown by the participants in answering the quiz questions was marvellous and praiseworthy. All the stakeholders put forth their best contribution in making the event a grand success and a memorable one.
Quiz Master Dr Neelotpal Deka who is a practising advocate Guwahati High Court said – ‘Bringing quiz in an online live is a laudable effort by India Tourism Naharlagun and Himalayan Holidays Bomdila. I felt honoured to be a part of it. The participation of a large number of students is overwhelming.’
Convenor Tsering Wange said that the quiz competition was organised on KBC pattern with 30 questions on ‘Constitution of India’ with 10 min response time. The participation from the students’ community was so overwhelming that all the allotted seats were packed to the full. Organisers had to create a second batch to accommodate 55 wait listed participants and a new date 1stAug 2020 was announced for the 2nd Online Quiz competition.
Judge K K Chandak had a tough time trying to break the tie between Ms Sasika Yesmin 23/30 Guwahati and Mr Yunus Ali 23/30 Bogaigaon for the coveted 2nd & 3rd position. The first prize in the senior category went to Ms Indira Das 25/30 Guwahati.
In the junior category, 1st & 2nd prize winners were Ms Nidhi Sarma 20/30 Itanagar and Ms Kristina Oswania 16/30 Guwahati. There was a tie between Ms Tenzin Nyiddon and Ms Khushi Thongon with 15 points each for the 3rd position. After two rounds of tie breaking questions, Ms Tenzin Nyiddon 15/30 Bomdila was declared winner by the Quiz Master Dr Neelotpal Deka.
K K Mandal Asst Director Ministry of Tourism thanked the judges, the Himalayan Holidays team and the participants for the whole hearted support in making the Quiz contest a grand success. He also announced gift hampers and a certificate from the Ministry of Tourism to all the winners of the Indiatourism Online Quiz Competition.

“It was a great opportunity, it helped me show my talent and a step to achieve the goal. I thank all of you for giving me such a golden chance. It would not be possible without your guidance.” said Nidhi Sharma, Itanagar 1st position (Junior category).
“I am immensely pleased to be part of this grand event. In this hour of Covid-19, Hiamlayan holidays in the aegis of Indian tourism has taken such an appreciable endeavour. The competition was awesome and via this student like us got to learn many things. The learned people around was another advantage to be part of this event”, said Kristina Ojaswaani, Guwahati 2nd position holder of Junior category.
