News Sense FactCheck Team plunged into action, in the initial observations we have found that Glenmark Pharmaceutical Ltd has claimed to have received manufacturing and marketing approval from India’s drug regulator, making their product FabiFlu® the first oral Favipiravir-approved medication in India for the treatment of COVID-19.
We then decided to reach out to the officials of Glenmark Pharmaceutical, we spoke to the officials in the Corporate Communication Department, who clearly specified that Glenmark Pharmaceutical Ltd has received approval from the drug regulator to market and manufacture drug FabiFlu, which is useful for the treatment of mild to moderate COVID-19 patients. And It cannot be used as preventive medicine.
