A video has been doing rounds on social media, showing the passengers inside a plane are arguing with flight attendants over the seat arrangements and social distancing.
The misleading message with the video says that the incident happened inside an Air India flight from Chicago-Delhi, where the passengers were charged three times more than the exact fare by government airliner for seats to maintain social distancing inside the plane, but the flight was packed without any scope of social distancing, so was the chaos.
We at News Sense received the video from various sources to verify its authenticity. Our search led us to several media reports including one by National Media Agency, ANI published a report on April 29, that says that the amateur video has been shot inside a Karachi-Toronto flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and not Chicago-Delhi bound Air India flight.
Further to our investigation when we checked with Air India, we found that they have already clarified on their official twitter handle, that the video is misrepresented, and said, the video is not of an Air India aircraft. The airliner also advised the enquirer not to spread such misinformation in a public domain, which may create panic & is a recognized offense.
Moreover, Press Information Bureau has also clarified that the video circulating is NOT of Air India but of an airline from a neighboring country.
From all these basic searches we have come to the conclusion that the video is real but the context and the place cited are fake and not related to Air India.
Claim: Passenger chaos inside Air India Plane over Social Distancing
