Air Force Centenary Run

In order to commemorate and mark the centenary celebration of the late Marshal of the Indian Air Force, Air Force Station Barrackpore, Air Force Station Bagdogra and Air Force Station Kalaikunda organised a half marathon run of 21 km named as ‘Centenary Run’ on 14th April 2019 on the eve of the Birth Centenary of the Late Marshal of IAF Arjan Singh. The races were flagged off by Gr Cpt AS Parandekar, Stn Cdr, Air Cmde Manu Chaudhary, AOC and Air Cmde Saji Antony, AOC at Barrackpore, Bagdogra and Kalaikunda AF Stations respectively. Around 600 air warriors participated enthusiastically in the ‘Centenary Run’ across the state.

The run was conducted to propagate the accomplishments and to pay rich tribute to the legendary Marshal of the IAF amongst all Air Force personnel. The commanders urged the warriors to emulate the footprints set by the MIAF and follow his four simple rules in daily life – firstly be thorough in profession, secondly should complete the job at hand to the satisfaction of everyone, thirdly to have implicit faith in subordinates and lastly, to make honest and sincere efforts. All the air warriors took pledge to carry on with legacy of the Marshal of the Indian Air Force.
