The Awareness Program on Defence Measures was organised by BDM Memorial School in Kolkata in association with BSF, the premiere Para military force responsible for the protection of our International Borders to acquaint students about the working of the force, which defends our borders.
There was a gallery that displayed various range of weapons that is used in protecting the borders. Also was on display a photo gallery that chronicled various facets and aspects of the functioning of the para military force.A documentary by National Geographic Channel “India’s First Line of defense- BSF’ was screened. The B.S.F Band team was present in full force, playing out in regular intervals. the theme song of the force, along with several patriotic numbers.
Senior Ranking officers of the force were present during the exhibition who interacted with the students, imbibing amongst them the importance of serving the country selflessly, on patriotism and how discipline is very core to the growth of an individual’s personality.The students were very much excited. They all had many queries on the way the armed force functions and on discipline issues during their interaction with the officers.
The Documentary seemed to have created a lasting impression in their mind about the force’s selfless service to the nation. Speaking to News Sense, Indranil Saha a student of class IX, said the experience has been remarkable and he learned so many new things about the force. Interacting with the Officials made him realize that such is the dedication of these men towards the Motherland that they would sacrifice their treasured lives and endure death to defend the reputation of the country and the crown. They are the real heroes who teach enormous ideals that might require decades to perceive.
The Principal Ms. Vijaya Chaudhuri felt that it is very important for the future citizens to realize the grave conditions in which they render service and the dedication with which all Border Security Force works. As a result all of these we can sleep in peace. They need to be respected and honored and each and every citizen should salute them.
